Want Sheet Music? Which Songs?

Posted by admin under YOUR

It’s a well-kept secret that I have a small songbook (6 songs), but I’m getting ready to sheetify even more tunes. To do ‘em all would take forever and cost a fortune, so I’d like to know which ones you [music directors, piano players, guitar pickers, singers] might like to have.

Below is a list of what’s already available, plus a list of other possible tunes I could get into notated form. It would be a HUGE help if you’d let me know which songs you’d like music for. You can do it in the comment box below. ALSO: what form(s) you need them in:

  • FORMAT 1 (Simpler): vocal lead sheet, lyrics and chord symbols
  • FORMAT 2 (More complex): the above plus piano arrangement
  • FORMAT 1+ or FORMAT 2+ (Guitar players): do you need guitar chord fingering diagrams?

The current songbook contains these 6 songs as piano arrangements plus vocal lead sheets with the chords written above:

  • The Grand Design
  • Unconditional Love, The Story Of Evy
  • Love Will Come Around
  • Ready To Use The Gifts I’ve Been Given (incl. guitar chord diagrams)
  • Love Is Real
  • (Can’t You Just) Feel My Love

These songbooks are $15 plus $2 shipping in the US. (You can mail a check or call the office.)

Here are the potential songs for sheetification. (If you don’t see one of my titles here, then it’s not a song I have the rights to.) Thanks for taking a minute and letting me know any titles you’re interested in, and in what form, by commenting in the box below.

In the comment box below, please list (A) the songs you’d like and (B) the form you need them in. NOTE: If you’ve never commented here before, or if your email has changed since your last comment, it’ll take a few minutes for me to approve your comment before it posts. But it will!  Thanks!

I’d like piano and guitar chords…yeah I admit it the finger diagrams would help. After all these years of neglecting my music I’m still as beginner.
    I would love
    All These Atoms
    My Family
Stand Like Mountain, Move Like Water
One Day On The Fields Of France
    No Credentials Whatsoever
Self-Employment Made harder By Difficult Boss
    Common Side Effects Include
A Brief History Of God (G-String Theory)
The Shootout At The I’m OK, You’re OK Corral
Analog Brain In A Digital World
Probably lots more of them would be great to have as well, I’ll take whatever you put out. Hmmm that didn’t sound right…

  2. Amanda Udis-Kessler Says:

As a pianist, I would do fine with just melody lines and chords (I have most of them picked out already but more assurance would be great). My three faves are I Know Who I Am, Dolphin Therapy, and The Grand Design, so the first two would be great to have (especially in a collection with the third). Thanks.

  3. Meg Says:

Oh my gosh, Greg, this is too good to be true!!! I love them all, so keep sheetifying as fast as you can sheetify!! My Big Request is that they be arranged into piano full-score form for us Note Readers. You’re the best ~ thanks!!!!

  4. Robert Johnson Says:

Dolphin Therapy, Greg…..Format 1 and 2, no chord fingering.

Listened to it a month or so ago and got through the whole thing without crying, so I think I could actually sing it in church now (with piano full-score arrangement?) .

Dang, how long has Grand Design been out? Well, that’s how long it has taken me to get through that song dry-eyed!

Guess I’m finally progressing through my daddy issues :-)

    Robert

  5. doug Says:

I think the lead sheet route is best, would it have the melody written out… notated in notes?

    Doug

  6. Penny Burdick Says:

I’d like All These Atoms in Format #2, with piano.

    Thanks for asking.

  7. Leddy Hammock Says:

How can we choose, Greg? We love everything you do! Your voice, your songs, your style — everything. We think your songbook will go a long way toward empowering musicians and music directors to share the great messages your songs convey. Hearing that you’re preparing songbooks is really good news, not only for positive music, but for the spirituality of planet earth.

    Sincerely, Leddy and Russ Hammock

  8. Jerry Hesselink Says:

    Tour to Africa – WOW.
Give of all of your music. Will have to have your song book.

The duo you did with David Roth here in Atlanta will always stick with me. That was just a 10+++. My dream is to have you back here doing a concert.

  9. christine Says:

I’m interested in simple guitar chords for what you have already along with these favorites ;) ?

    **** I Don’t Know (Exactly Where I’m Going)
Just A Little Soul Hanging Out In Space
    Clyde, My Inner Guide

I’ve been patient waiting for this,
    much love ?
    Christine

  10. Kim Andrews Says:

So Much Love in Format 2
    Thank you!

  11. David Phillips Says:

    Well,

Of course my vote would go to one of the most profound songs of all time:

Just A Little Soul Hanging Out In Space

Format 1 or 2 would work (although I don’t really need 2 as I am a guitar player) and guitar chord fingering diagrams would especially be helpful, especially for those modulations where the song switches keys.

I would gladly pay you for this.

Thank you for all you have birthed into this world, David

  12. Rosalee O'Connor Says:

    Dear Greg,
You came to our center in Mobile and sang and spoke and I about fell off my chair laughing-Rev. David (Ault)
went on to Atlanta, but a lot of people are still here and would love to see you again; our minister is Rev. Sherrie Quander.

I am so happy to know you already have a songbook out which i shall purchase and here are the other tunes which i would love to have scripted in FORMAT 2:

    The Grand Design
    I Know Who I Am
    Dolphin Therapy
    Underachievers’ Anonymous
    The Shoot-Out
    Self-Employment Made Harder
    Analog Brain
    Brief History of God

I like to have a songbook or sheet music because i can read music very well and play piano, but i cannot
play ANYTHING by ear. although i can tell when someone is off-key. anyway, i love to sit by myself and play/practice/sing or do a kind of duet with my sister-i find it sooooooooooo relaxing, but i have yet to see any
    metaphysical type music “sheetified”.

So, Greg, this seems like a fabulous idea-thank you so much.

    All the best always,
    Rosalee O’Connor

  13. craig jones Says:

    format 2 would be great.
    songs:
ready to use the gifts i’ve been given
    type A-ness
what we want from other people
    chasin’ a dream
    i don’t know exactly where i’m going
just a little soul hanging out in space
self employment made harder by a difficult boss
    a brief history of god

  14. Shaffia Says:

I really love All these Atoms. I once sang it at Sufi camp for our “sharing” evening with out any musical accompaniment and it was a hit. Some day I may get back to playing guitar, so cords would be helpful, more likely I would play it on my violin, which would make it hard to sing. any way I love it all. Ralph on the other hand plays keyboards really well and we could sing together!
    Keep on singing and writing!

  15. Janet Says:

Would love any/all of these songs in format A:
    All These Atoms,
    My Family,
    Still Finding My Way,
Stand Like Mountain, Move Like Water,
    The Hallways Of My Mind,
The Shootout At The I’m OK, You’re OK Corral

You don’t have rights to “Call the Lamas”? (sniff, sob) That one is our favorite. Oh, well!! Some of your sheet music is a lot better than none!! Thanks!

  16. Bob Johnson Says:

Well, its about time Greg. I am still trying to learn “When Carl Sagan Died.” Tells u about my guitar playing or the lack there of. Others of interest to me are “All These Atoms”, My Ride Home From Neptune; A Brief History of God(G- String Theory). Format 1 would be fine for me. Hope u will be able to do this.

  17. Dave Lukaszewski Says:

    Greg,

I play guitar & sing…so would just need lyrics & guitar chords (above the lyrics). I get the melody from just listening to the CD track. Here are the two songs I’d love to have the above for:

    * Analog Brain In A Digital World
    * More Now later

    Dave

  18. Bonnie Chase Says:

    Hi Greg,
It’s always great to see you & hear your music, and it will be AWESOME to have it with us when you aren’t there too!

Full piano score is ideal for me.
    Here’s my choices:
    All these Atoms
    So much Love
    Underachievers Anonymous
Just a little Soul hangin’ out in Space
    I Know who I am

    Bonnie :)

  19. lisa Says:

format 1. how about that game?

oh, wait, that’s not on the list yet…

  20. Cathy Robel Says:

I love the way you do “Call the Lamas”! I recently discovered that Marshall Chapman wrote it. Is there any way I can get a lead sheet of it. Just the chords, lyrics and melody will do. I Love your music. I’m a Chicago Unity Singer!

  21. ron paul Says:

I would like lead sheet/ chords/lyrics to I think of God as Poet. Can I get/buy that?
